NYC Cyanotype Workshop- May 24
When: May 24th 3pm-5pm
Where: Sudestada, 67 West St (studio 513) Brooklyn, NY 11222
About the workshop:
Memor is hosting its first “ephemera collection” event series, accompanied by an immersive cyanotype printmaking workshop. Join us for an intimate gathering as we explore this solar powered form of art making. A Cyanotype is a type of printmaking where objects are placed on specially primed surfaces to create shadows & shape. After exposure to the sun, the result yields a stunning blue print, a play between positive and negative space. This technique can be used to create images on various natural fiber materials (paper, clothing, silk, canvas, shells…) sun & sky are the limit for this playful medium. Paper and cyanotype materials are provided but we encourage you to bring your own ephemera to print with AND print on. The objects you bring can be left with us as we initiate our first “ephemera collection event” whereby we transform your found objects, talisman, and artifacts into a large art installation. You will be invited back to experience the community piece on display in October. After the workshop you’ll take home your prints from our workshop, as a commemorative for these donated effects, as well as the knowledge and skills to repeat this process at home.
Your ticket also includes bites, beverages, and early access shopping to our Sudestada Pop-up of vases, cases, & other Memor pieces.
All tickets are final sale
